Frequently Asked Questions: Managing Your Widgets
Find quick answers to common questions about creating, embedding, and updating widgets on your website, as well as managing your display settings.
-
How do I view and manage my existing widgets? Navigate to the Widgets section in your main dashboard. Here, you will see individual widget cards displaying key details like the widget name, type, active display filters, and when it was last updated.
-
What steps do I take to create a new widget?
- Click the + Create Widget button in the top-right corner of the dashboard.
- Select your target property or location.
- Choose a layout style (Carousel, Badge, List, or Grid).
- Configure your display rules (such as showing only positive reviews).
- Click Save.
-
How do I embed a widget onto my website? Find the widget card on your main dashboard and click the Embed Code (
<>) icon. Copy the generated code snippet, then paste it directly into the HTML of your website's header or the specific section where you want it to appear. -
Do I need to replace the embed code every time I update a widget? No. Any changes saved in the dashboard update automatically on your live website. You do not need to re-embed the code snippet after making edits.
-
How do I edit an existing widget's settings or filters? Click the Edit button on any active widget card, adjust your desired settings (such as display filters or layout styles), and click Save Changes.
- How can I embed the widget my website? If you are technically savvy, you can usually embed the snippet without having edit the raw code:
Using a Page Builder (WordPress, Elementor, Squarespace, Wix, Webflow):- Open the page/header editor where the widget should live.
- Add a "Custom HTML" or "Embed Code" block to the layout.
- Paste the generated code snippet into the block and click Publish/Save.
Using Site-Wide Code Injectors:- Go to the CMS settings (e.g., Squarespace → Advanced → Code Injection or a WordPress plugin like Header and Footer Scripts).
- Paste the code into the Header or Footer script area.
- Save changes.
Using Google Tag Manager (GTM):- Create a new Custom HTML Tag in Tag Manager.
- Paste the widget script tag.
- Set the trigger to fire on "All Pages" (or specific target pages) and publish the container.
The Code Snippet: The exact HTML/JavaScript code from the dashboard<>modal.
Placement Instructions: Exactly where the widget should display (e.g., "In the global header," "On the homepage directly below the room search bar," or "In the footer of all booking pages").
