Setting Up and Tracking Competitors
The Competitors section is your dedicated market intelligence hub. By linking rival properties to your account, you can establish baseline benchmarks, monitor external performance trends, and see how your guest satisfaction metrics stack up against the competition in your local market.
1. The Competitor Dashboard
When you click into the Competitor menu item, you will see a clean, side-by-side comparison layout:
- Your Baseline Score: Prominently displayed at the top, this represents your property's current aggregate reputation score.
- The Competitor Index: Directly underneath your score, you will see a listed breakdown of your added competitors along with their respective average performance ratings.
2. How to Add a Competitor Property
Tracking a new competitor requires just a few pieces of public information. The platform uses these unique links to accurately scrape and analyze their public review data.
To add a property to your tracking index:
- Click the Add Competitor button.
- In the modal that opens, fill in the Name of the Competitor and their Location (City/Region).
- Provide their Google Place ID: You can easily retrieve this alphanumeric string directly from the property's public Google Maps URL.
- Provide their Booking.com URL: Copy and paste the direct link to the competitor's public listing on Booking.com.
3. Automated Data Retrieval
Once you have entered the required portal identifiers, simply click Add Competitor.
What happens next? Our system takes over immediately, safely pulling historical and real-time public review data from those specific portals in the background. There is no manual mapping or coding required on your end—the analytics pipeline will update automatically as soon as the data sync is complete.
